People do not really care much about their health and personal hygiene being too much involved with work.
Hemorrhoids are swollen tissues of flesh in which the veins connecting the rectum and the anus are contained. Due to high blood pressure and hypertension, obesity, constipation and several other reasons these veins swell becoming red in color giving rise to this medical problem known as hemorrhoids. The inner lining of the absorption surfaces located in the anus and the rectum known as mucosal lining gets damaged due to hard stool or strained bowel movements leading to cuts and tears in the skin and the mucosal lining commonly known as anal fissures. Anal fissures usually add to the complexity of hemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids are of two types categorized according to their location: External hemorrhoid and internal hemorrhoids. External ones are present outside the anal opening and may at times line the entire circumference of the opening. Internal ones are located inside the anal opening and very difficult to diagnose.
External ones are little painful initially but they can be severe if proper medical attention is not given on correct time. An external hemorrhoid can be converted into a thrombosed hemorrhoid if there is a blood clot in the vein due to rupturing of the vein. External hemorrhoids are painful, create irritation and itching and at times bleed.
There are various means of treating external hemorrhoids. In the initial stages they can be treated with creams and mild reagents recommended by doctors. In more severe stages doctors and specialists suggest doing surgeries which may be effective in curing external hemorrhoids. Various kinds of surgeries could be done depending on the severity of the disorder like rubber band litigation in which the hemorrhoid is cut off the blood supply and it just detaches from the body.
In sclerotherapy a reagent is injected into the hemorrhoid, which hardens the walls of the hemorrhoid leading to their collapse. Lasers are also used these days to remove the external hemorrhoids being the most advanced technique. There is also a surgery in which electric current is used to chop off the hemorrhoids.
One of the best methods is stapled hemorrhoidectomy which is not as painful as compared with conventional methods of surgery. The method usually involves cutting of the blood supply to the external hemorrhoid. This method ensures faster recovery and happens to be the safest. There is one such surgery which is applicable to all types of hemorrhoids known as Doppler guided hemorrhoidal artery litigation. This method is the most effective for treating piles which have been bleeding. It’s the fastest method because the patients don’t need to stay at the hospital and can go home the very next day.
All the factors should be given a consideration before opting for the various methods of surgeries.
