How to Treat Small External Hemorrhoids – Simple Tips For Relief of Your Small External Piles

Many people are suffering with varying degrees of hemorrhoid pain. If you need to treat small external hemorrhoids, there are a few simple at home options that you can explore to improve your condition.

Simple and natural are always the first line of defense with any condition. Hemorrhoids, also known as “Piles”, are no different. First find relief using a warm sitz bath. Add baking soda or natural sea salt to the bath for even more easement.

Alternate a cold compress to the area for no more than 20 minutes at a time, with your warm sitz bath or warm towel. Soak the towel in witch hazel to soothe any itchiness you are feeling.

If you need an on-the-go answer, take moist towelettes with you so you can use them instead of toilet paper. Toilet paper is really irritating to that sensitive area and can result in more damage to your hemorrhoids. Commercial toilet papers also contain harsh chemicals that act as irritants to this condition.

Over the counter creams and ointments do have some effect, but try Desitin for a temporary fix that works. It is used on baby bottoms, so you know it is gentle enough for adult use. Suppositories do work for some, but may be painful to insert.

Also, avoid being sedentary. Standing or sitting in one position for long periods of time put more pressure on your hemorrhoids and make it even worse than before. If you have a job where you are supposed to sit for long periods make sure to get up at least once an hour and move around. Take your lunch break and go for a walk, this will alleviate some of the pressure from sitting for hours.
