Review of Surgical Thrombosed Hemorrhoid Treatments

Some people prefer home based Thrombosed Hemorrhoid treatments but there are surgical Thrombosed Hemorrhoid treatments available as well. One should always prefer to carry out the latter procedure only in extreme conditions. The scope of medical Thrombosed Hemorrhoid treatment is very vast and includes the following procedures:

Clot Removal:

This is a minor surgery which is carried out in the doctor’s clinic. Local anaesthesia is generally used on the thrombosed hemorrhoids which are giving pain and discomfort to the patient. It is the area where a blood clot is developed in the external hemorrhoids. The doctor just cuts out the skin after giving anaesthesia.

Rubber Band Legation:

This treatment for hemorrhoids is usual done in the doctor’s clinic. In this process, hemorrhoid is tightly held using forceps. Then rubber-bands are put on them which cut off the blood supply. Thus hemorrhoids die in a couple of days.

Cryosurgery:

Cryosurgery is an outdated Thrombosed Hemorrhoid treatment because of the pain that the patient had to suffer from this procedure. Nitrous oxide (Liquid Nitrogen) is used to freeze the hemorrhoids which are then destroyed using cryoprobe. A structure of tubes is used to pass liquid nitrogen which cools the very tip of cryoprobe.

Sclerotherapy (Injection Therapy):

In sclerotherapy, hardening agent or sclerosing is injected in the base of hemorrhoids to cut off the blood circulation. This treatment is usually preferred for senior patients whose body has become weak and veins fragile.

BICAP Coagulations and Infrared:

In this process, infrared light is used to burn the hemorrhoids. Sometimes even electric current is also used for the same.

Hemorrhoidectomy:

Hemorrhoidectomy is carried out only in extreme cases in which the patient is suffering from intense pain or itching. It is carried out using lasers and scalpels. Since there are many medicinal procedures and home remedies available to treat hemorrhoids, the percentage of patients treating hemorrhoids with surgery is very less.
